Happy Soy Happy Day!
(Has a ring to it, doesn't it?)

SH Manager, Patti Howard, celebrates veggie dogs at RFK Stadium.
Join us in celebrating
Soy Happy Day on January 10th!
What is Soy Happy Day?
Soy Happy Day is a day that celebrates
the power of the individual voice! Public eateries respond to customer requests and feedback and
this is a day when we encourage everyone to use their voices at baseball stadiums and any other public eateries they frequent. Empower yourself and take a few minutes to say thanks if they already offer the items you love...or to offer menu suggestions for those items you've been craving!
Why is Soy Happy Day on January 10th?
Soy Happy has a special focus
on Major League Baseball stadiums. Empowering baseball fans has been a major part of our efforts, and it is due to the influence of individual feedback that so many parks now offer veggie dogs. For baseball stadiums, January
is when concession managers start looking over menu
options for the coming season. Menu decisions often
involve tallying customer suggestions. Therefore, this is the optimal
time for baseball fans to contact their stadiums' concession managers to offer thanks and/or suggestions for veggie dogs and other veggie items. Final menu decisions at most baseball stadiums are made in late February or March. The more people who contact the park, supporting vegetarian menu options, the stronger the likelihood those items will be available in the coming season.
Let this also be incentive to share your feedback or suggestions with any other public eateries that you frequent. Empower yourself! Sometimes, only one suggestion makes the difference. Never underestimate the power of your feedback.
How do I
celebrate Soy Happy Day?
It couldn't be simpler! Just take a few minutes to offer your feedback
and suggestions regarding veggie options at the ballparks or other venues that you frequent.
Make a quick call and talk to the manager or food-service director;
write a letter or send an Email. Our Venue
Reference Guide offers contact information for all baseball stadiums
as well as links to other public venues. (Please let us know if you
come upon any updates or changes to our listed information.)
Remember, to be successful, it's not
just a matter of what you ask for, but as importantly, how you ask for it. For information on the most
effective ways to share food or menu suggestions, check out or page
on Empowering Consumers.
Keep in mind that some concession managers keep a tally of suggestions
they receive! It's not just about offering veggie dogs. If you would
like them to offer veggie burgers or the option of vegetarian chili on those veggie dogs.... let
them know. If your ballpark has already introduced the items you prefer,
be sure to take a few minutes to let them know how much you appreciate
that. A newly introduced menu
item is not guaranteed to stay on a menu unless the venue continues
to receive positive feedback, along with generating sales.
If food service directors are interested in adding new vegetarian items
to the menu, Soy Happy offers free consultation and liaison services,
so encourage them to contact us. We will facilitate sample deliveries and ensure their satisfaction.
Remember that Soy
Happy Day is a symbolic day, inspired as a way to motivate consumers
to use the power of their own voice. Let the celebration of self-empowerment
continue throughout the year! Every voice adds up to make a difference. Your opinions matter. Be gracious and you'll go far.
So
get to it.
Celebrate your own voice and make a difference!
